Expanding Compliance, Reporting, and Connectivity for Fire Alarm Professionals

AMITYVILLE, NY & ATLANTA, GA — NAPCO Security Technologies and BuildingReports® today announced an enhanced integration between NAPCO’s StarLink Fire® Max2 Cellular Commercial Fire Alarm Communicators and the BuildingReports inspection reporting platform. This collaboration expands compliance documentation, reporting accuracy, and system visibility for fire alarm dealers, particularly those serving multi-site and National Account customers. NAPCO’s exhibit at NFPA Expo, Booth 431, in Las Vegas next week will showcase the exciting solution, alongside the BuildingReports Booth 533 directly across the aisle.

The life safety code-compliant StarLink Fire Max2 Dual Cell/IP Communicator is widely respected and used as a cost-effective replacement for POTS lines. It delivers dual carrier connectivity across Verizon and AT&T networks with automatic selection for optimal signal performance. As part of this integration, NAPCO has advanced its communicator technology to provide a dedicated data path for BuildingReports, separate from the signal transmitted to the monitoring station, enabling enhanced data exchange without impacting alarm communications.

Together, the platforms introduce new capabilities that improve inspection workflows, data accuracy, and system transparency. For example, BuildingReports established barcode-based time and date stamping will be further strengthened by a secondary layer of electronic verification sourced directly from addressable connected devices, delivering greater confidence that every device has been thoroughly inspected.

The partnership is further designed to extend visibility beyond the inspection itself. Through a planned expansion of the integration with BuildingReports’ PanelScan™ service, NAPCO StarLink Fire Communicator data will be incorporated directly into inspection reports and the BuildingReports mobile app, bringing key system activity and device-level information into a single, unified view. This will include the ability to review Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) activity alongside inspection results, giving service providers and stakeholders a more complete and real-time picture of overall system performance.

For building owners and facility managers, the partnership will introduce new opportunities for proactive system oversight. Automated notifications from the BuildingReports service will be developed to alert stakeholders to potential device issues or failures, helping support faster response times and ongoing compliance with fire and life safety requirements.

The partnership is designed to grow alongside the evolving landscape of connected building systems. Upcoming development will enable pre-population of inspection data within BuildingReports using device information from integrated systems, allowing technicians to begin inspections with greater speed, accuracy, and consistency.

BuildingReports brings decades of inspection expertise, advanced mobile and cloud-based technology, and the industry’s largest network of inspection professionals. Its platform enables technicians to efficiently capture fire and life safety device data and generate accurate, verifiable reports, helping ensure systems meet compliance requirements and clearly identify corrective actions.

StarLink Fire Max2 continues to distinguish itself with architecture and installation advantages valued by dealers. Its direct-to-carrier connectivity, enabled through NAPCO’s native U.S. carrier relationships, establishes secure VPN tunnels directly from the cellular networks to NAPCO’s UL-Listed Network Operations Center and Disaster Recovery site. Unlike other solutions, StarLink transmissions remain entirely within the U.S., avoiding global signal routing or third-party detours, helping provide faster delivery, greater reliability, redundancy, and SOC 2-compliant enhanced data security. Additionally, NAPCO just released new StarLink Direct, a Central Station-Direct option, to satisfy AHJ and/or regional specs for a no-NOC Signal and Supervision transmission path.

StarLink installations are well-known for their streamlined speed and simplicity, requiring no panel reprogramming, additional power supply, or complex wiring, thanks to dual quick-connect FACU modular jacks. These features help reduce labor time and simplify deployments for technicians in the field. Enabling BuildingReports integration is equally straightforward, requiring only a quick remote firmware upgrade to any/all existing StarLink Fire MAX2 Communicators.

David Sperber, NAPCO Director of Sales, stated, “As a leader in fire and life-safety communications, NAPCO is pleased to partner with BuildingReports to deliver greater connectivity, efficiency, and value to the marketplace. By combining the proven performance of StarLink Cellular Communicators with BuildingReports’ inspection and compliance platform, this collaboration helps fire alarm dealers streamline operations and better serve their customers.”

“This partnership represents an important step forward in how inspection data is captured, validated, and applied,” said Jason Kronz, CEO/CTO of BuildingReports. “By integrating with StarLink Fire Max2 and continuing to expand capabilities like device-level verification and PanelScan, we’re building a smarter, more connected approach to compliance that evolves alongside the industry.”

All StarLink Fire Max2 Communicators in the field &/or available at distributors nationwide, support the BuildingReports integration with a quick, simple firmware upgrade, activated with a button-press remotely via the NOC (no product-replacements are necessary.) Together, the solution delivers the innovation, reliability, and operational efficiency that have made both platforms trusted choices among fire alarm professionals and National Account providers.

Direct integration with The Compliance Engine® (TCE), powered by BRYCER, eliminates manual submission steps, accelerating compliance and improving reporting accuracy for service providers and AHJs.

LISLE, IL and ATLANTA, GA — BuildingReports®, the leading provider of technology-enabled fire and life safety inspection solutions, recently announced a new integration with The Compliance Engine® (TCE), the industry-leading compliance management platform powered by BRYCER. This integration enables service providers to submit fire and life safety inspection reports directly from the BuildingReports platform into TCE, simplifying the reporting process for inspection companies operating in jurisdictions that require compliance submissions through the TCE system.

Through this integration, inspection reports uploaded within BuildingReports can be submitted directly to The Compliance Engine without leaving the platform. By removing the need to download, re-enter, or manually upload reports into a separate system, service providers can streamline their workflow while ensuring that AHJs receive timely and accurate compliance documentation.

This integration delivers:

  • Streamlined compliance: Inspection reports uploaded in BuildingReports can be submitted directly to The Compliance Engine for AHJ review.
  • Improved efficiency: Eliminates duplicate data entry and reduces time spent moving between reporting systems.
  • Faster submissions: Submit inspection reports from BuildingReports to TCE in just a few clicks, accelerating the compliance process.
  • Reduced errors: Minimizes manual handling of inspection data, helping ensure more consistent and accurate reporting.

BuildingReports is the first solution to partner with BRYCER’s new Compliance Sync service, further expanding the ways service providers can streamline compliance reporting. Compliance Sync allows service companies to send inspection reports directly to BRYCER, where dedicated reviewers extract the required information and manage the AHJ filing process on the contractor’s behalf. By supporting both direct TCE submissions and Compliance Sync workflows, BuildingReports members gain access to flexible compliance options designed to reduce administrative burden and simplify AHJ reporting requirements.

Service providers interested in learning more about Compliance Sync can request additional information at: https://zfrmz.com/YkVm9oCcAQBSY9pZGZAG

“The integration with BRYCER’s The Compliance Engine is another step forward in our mission to simplify compliance workflows for our members,” said Jason Kronz, CEO/CTO of BuildingReports. “By streamlining how inspection data is submitted to The Compliance Engine, we’re reducing complexity and giving service providers more time to focus on what matters most: serving their customers and ensuring safety.”

“At BRYCER we understand the critical role inspections play in compliance, so integrating with BuildingReports is a natural next step – allowing jurisdictions to receive accurate, timely inspection data directly in The Compliance Engine without disrupting the workflows service providers already rely on,” said Matt Rice, CEO of BRYCER.

For service providers operating in jurisdictions that require TCE submissions, the integration significantly reduces the administrative burden of compliance reporting. Inspection companies can manage their inspection documentation and AHJ submissions within a single workflow, allowing them to spend less time navigating systems and more time supporting customers and maintaining safety standards. BuildingReports members operating in TCE jurisdictions can activate the integration through the BuildingReports Member Success team.

This collaboration represents another step forward in BuildingReports’ commitment to connecting inspection data with the compliance systems used by regulators and fire prevention agencies. By offering both direct integration with The Compliance Engine and access to BRYCER’s Compliance Sync service, BuildingReports and BRYCER are providing service companies with flexible options to simplify reporting, reduce administrative burden, and create a more efficient, transparent, and reliable fire and life safety ecosystem.
